A North Aldershot zone reserved for the clay and shale quarry and brick-plant operations, with only agricultural, conservation and light recreation uses otherwise allowed and no new houses permitted.

  • Outdoor Recreation (footnote c: only non-intensive recreational establishments such as walking trails, nature viewing, bird watching as the principal use)
  • Agricultural Uses
  • Accessory Farm Commercial (footnote a: only in conjunction with a commercial farm)
  • Accessory Farm Dwelling Unit (footnote b: only in conjunction with a commercial farm and only for farm help)
  • Archaeological Conservation Projects
  • Forest, Wildlife, Fisheries Management Projects
  • Veterinary Services (footnote e: only on existing lots of at least 1.2 ha; animal-keeping buildings/structures/enclosures set back 30 m from any lot line or street line)

Other provisions in this section

  • Landscape buffer abutting a property line: 15 m (s.9.3).
  • Buildings and structures permitted on lands west of King Road within 300 m of the southerly boundary of MRNA-zoned lands (s.9.1(a)): extraction and storage of clay and shale; manufacture and storage of finished clay products and accessory building materials as an accessory use to a licensed mineral resource extraction use; office use associated with a brick plant; accessory structures associated with a brick plant; storage and maintenance of equipment and vehicles associated with a brick plant and quarry.
  • Buildings and structures permitted on the remainder of MRNA lands (s.9.1(b)): extraction and storage of clay and shale; storage and maintenance of excavation equipment associated with the quarry; accessory structures associated with a quarry operation.
  • Prohibited uses (s.9.2): asphalt plants and concrete plants.
  • Detached dwellings, townhouses, additional residential units, retirement homes, long-term care, commercial, office, hospitality, automotive, golf driving range, other recreational establishments and outdoor patios are not permitted in MRNA (Table 9.3.1).
  • Part 9 s.2 prohibited uses (in addition to Part 1 s.2.22): parking/storage of a recreational vehicle over 3000 kg registered GVW, 6 m overall length or 2.6 m overall height; parking/storage of a motor vehicle with a stake body; parking/storage of a motor vehicle on/off a trailer or a utility trailer including load exceeding a combined height of 3.6 m.
  • Subject to Part 1 (General Conditions and Provisions) and Part 14 (Exceptions to Zone Designations) (s.1).
  • Holding 'H' prefix: uses per Part 11 s.1.1; development deemed premature until the 'H' is removed per Part 11 s.1.2 (s.1(a)).
  • Accessory buildings/structures per Part 1 s.2.2; patios and decks per Part 1 s.2.3; fencing and privacy screens per Part 1 s.2.4; swimming pools per Part 1 s.2.5 (s.1(b)-(e)).
  • 'L'-shaped detached dwelling without attached garage/carport forming one side and one end of a 4.5 m x 6.5 m parking space: required side yard is the same as for a detached dwelling with an attached garage or carport (s.1(f)) - noted for completeness though detached dwellings are not permitted in MRNA.
