D zone, Mississauga: Development

Section 12.3.2, Table 12.3.2 of the City of Mississauga Zoning By-law 0225-2007, as amended by 0147-2022.

A holding-style zone where only the buildings and uses that legally existed when the by-law was passed may continue; no new buildings are allowed and existing ones may only grow by up to 10% until the land is rezoned.

Other provisions in this section

  • The erection of new buildings or structures and the replacement of existing buildings and structures is not permitted (Table 12.3.2 row 3.0)
  • Enlargement of existing buildings and structures is permitted to a maximum of 10% of the gross floor area legally existing on the date of passing of the By-law (Table 12.3.2 row 4.0)
  • All buildings and structures must also comply with Parts 1 to 3 and Subsection 12.3.1 of the By-law (Section 12.3.2)
  • Site-specific exception zones D-1 through D-12 exist (Section 12.3.3); refer to Article 1.1.2.3 for exception zone schedules
