Other provisions in this section
- Maximum front yard and maximum flankage yard: n/a for E2 (Table 10.3); the corner-lot 10.0 m maximum yard rule in Table 10.3 footnote 1 (2017-025) is not referenced in the E2 column and does not apply to E2.
- Rooftop mechanical equipment and mechanical penthouses over 2.0 m high are not permitted within 23.0 m of a Residential Low, Institutional (I) or Community Use (CU) Zone boundary (Table 10.3 fn 3b).
- Accessory retail store and showroom: maximum net floor area is the lesser of 15% of the main use's net floor area or 250.0 m²; must be in the same premises as the main use and separated by a permanent floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall partition with closed doors (Table 10.2 fn 3, PL140317).
- Adult entertainment establishment: prohibited within 800.0 m of a Residential Zone (in Oakville or a neighbouring municipality) and must be the exclusive use in a freestanding building (Table 10.2 fn 4, 10).
- Art gallery, drive-through facility, financial institution, place of worship and restaurant: together limited to 30% of the total net floor area on the lot, and no such floor area may be occupied until an equal amount of net floor area for other permitted uses has been built; a stand-alone building legally existing on the by-law's effective date with such a use is exempt with no maximum net floor area (Table 10.2 fn 6, 7).
- Drive-through facility: not permitted on a lot abutting any Residential Zone (Table 10.2 fn 8).
- Sports facility: maximum net floor area 1,000.0 m² on any lot within 100.0 m of a Residential Zone (Table 10.2 fn 9).
- Place of worship: maximum lot area 2.5 ha (Table 10.2 fn 12a).
- Day care and private school: not permitted within 120.0 m of an Industrial (E3) Zone (Table 10.2 fn 17, PL140317).
- Outside storage and heavy vehicle parking area: permitted only as accessory to another permitted use (Table 10.2 fn 18, 2021-068).
- Gatehouse permitted in any required yard if no more than 3.0 m high and 5.0 m² in floor area (s.10.4).
- Section 10.5 main wall proportion rules apply only to the E1 Zone, not E2.
- Outside storage and heavy vehicle parking areas (s.10.6): only in an interior side yard or rear yard, set back 3.5 m from any lot line; maximum 25% of the lot area in the E2 Zone (no maximum when accessory to an emergency service facility or public works yard); not permitted in any yard abutting a Residential, Institutional (I) or Community Use (CU) Zone boundary; materials stacked cumulatively above 1.8 m only in a rear yard or between two buildings on the same lot; on an E2 lot entirely more than 100.0 m from a railway corridor, stored materials may be no taller than the largest building on the lot; damaged, impounded or inoperable vehicles may not be stored except with a motor vehicle storage compound or salvage yard; on a motor-vehicle manufacturing lot over 100.0 ha these uses are permitted in any yard.
