A rural zone on the Oak Ridges Moraine for farms and large-lot rural properties, where a detached house is allowed only on a vacant lot of record that already qualified for one as of November 15, 2001, and buildings must be set well back on lots of at least 6 hectares.

Other provisions in this section

  • Minimum lot area is 6 ha (60,000 m²) and minimum lot frontage is 90 m (Table 10.2).
  • Maximum building area: lesser of 5% of the lot or 1 ha; not applicable to Town of Caledon public uses (Table 10.2 fn 1) or livestock facilities (fn 2).
  • Interior side yard: 3 m on existing lots of less than 6 ha; 15 m on other lots.
  • Building height: 10.5 m maximum for residential uses; 12.2 m maximum for non-residential uses.
  • Accessory gasoline pump island setback: minimum 9 m.
  • Driveway setback: minimum 3 m; must comply with Section 5.2.14, Driveway Provisions for Residential Dwellings (Table 10.2 fn 3).

  • Bed and breakfast establishments must comply with Section 4.5 and Section 5.2.2 Residential Parking Requirements (fn 3).
  • Detached dwelling permitted only on a vacant lot of record where a single detached dwelling would have been permitted as of November 15, 2001 (fn 4).
  • Farm-based alcohol production facility and on-farm diversified use must comply with Section 4.26 (fn 6).
  • Agricultural uses must comply with Section 4.41 (prohibited uses in Wellhead Protection Areas within the ORM Conservation Plan Area) (fn 7).
  • Cannabis-related and industrial hemp-related outdoor uses must comply with Section 4.7 (fn 8).
  • Section 10.4.1: where a lot fails to meet the minimum lot area and/or lot frontage, residential uses are subject to the RR column of Table 6.1 and Section 6 (plus Sections 4.2.2, 4.41 and 5.2.19); non-residential uses, and mixed residential/non-residential lots, remain subject to all Section 10 standards including minimum lot area and frontage.
  • All uses are also subject to the General Provisions in Section 4 and the Parking, Loading & Delivery Standards in Section 5 (Section 10.1).
