MX zone, Caledon: Extractive Industrial
Section 8 – Industrial Zones, Tables 8.1 and 8.2 (Sections 8.2, 8.3) of the Town of Caledon Zoning By-law 2006-50.
The MX zone is for gravel pits and quarries (plus farms and accessory open storage), with large setbacks from neighbouring residential land and buffer planting strips.

Other provisions in this section
- Minimum lot area stated as 1 ha (recorded as 10,000 m²).
- Maximum building area: 900 m² (Table 8.2).
- All yards subject to footnote (15): notwithstanding any building setback provisions, no building setback is required from any portion of a lot line abutting a railroad right-of-way or abutting another lot in an MX Zone.
- Excavation setbacks (minimum): 15 m from any lot line; 30 m from any street line.
- Accessory open storage area setbacks (minimum): 90 m from any lot line abutting a Residential zone; 30 m from any other lot line.
- Planting strip width (minimum): 15 m; location per footnote (10): required along each front lot line, and along any portion of a rear lot line and interior side lot line that abuts a Residential zone.
- Driveway setbacks (minimum): 3 m from any other lot line; 9 m from a lot line abutting a zone other than an MX or MD zone.
- Parking space setbacks (minimum): 3 m from any street line; 9 m from any lot line abutting a Residential zone or a lot containing a Residential use.
- Uses and standards also subject to the General Provisions in Section 4 and the Parking, Loading & Delivery Standards in Section 5 (Section 8.1).
