G1 zone, Mississauga: Greenlands - Natural Hazards
Section 10.2.1, Table 10.2.1 (Part 10 Greenlands Zones) of the City of Mississauga Zoning By-law 0225-2007, as amended by 0379-2009, 0208-2022.
Greenlands zone for natural-hazard lands: permitted uses are limited to flood control, stormwater management, erosion management and natural heritage features and areas conservation, plus the accessory uses in Section 10.1.1 (trails, passive recreation with a stormwater facility, fences, permeable parking areas). Table 10.2.1 sets no dimensional standards for the zone.

Other provisions in this section
- All buildings and structures must comply with Parts 1 and 2 and Section 10.1 of the By-law (Section 10.2.1).
- Table 10.2.1 lists permitted uses only; it contains no lot, yard, height, coverage or other dimensional standards for the G1 zone.
- Natural Protection Area (Table 10.2.1 row 2.4) is not checked in the G1 column and is not a permitted use in G1.
- Accessory uses (Section 10.1.1, applies to G1 and G2 zones): trails are permitted accessory to natural heritage features and areas conservation (10.1.1.1).
- A passive recreational use is permitted accessory to a stormwater management facility (10.1.1.2).
- A fence is permitted accessory to a natural protection area and natural heritage features and areas conservation, to prevent encroachment from abutting land uses and establish property boundaries (10.1.1.3).
- Parking areas are permitted accessory to natural heritage features and areas conservation and may be built of permeable material to minimize impacts on the natural environment (10.1.1.4, 0208-2022).
- Adjacent lands: in Residential Zones, all buildings, structures, parking areas and swimming pools must be set back from lands zoned G1 or G2 Base Zone by the greater of 5.0 m or the required yard/setback (Article 4.1.8.1, 0179-2018); the pool setback is measured from the inside wall of the pool to a G1/G2 Base or Exception Zone (4.1.8.2, 0179-2018).
- Adjacent lands: an essential emergency service in a Residential Zone must set back all buildings, structures, parking areas and swimming pools from lands zoned G1 or G2 Base Zone by the greater of 5.0 m or the required yard/setback (general provisions table, row 2.5).
- Adjacent lands: in non-residential zones, all buildings and structures must be set back from lands zoned G1 or G2 Base Zone or G1 Exception Zones, and parking areas, driveways, loading spaces, other paved areas and outdoor storage areas from lands zoned G1 or G2 Base Zone, by the greater of 5.0 m or the required yard/setback (Table 2.1.17.1, 0297-2013, 0179-2018).
- Encroachments and projections are not permitted into a minimum required setback to a Greenlands Zone under Table 4.1.8.1 (Article 4.1.5.6, 0144-2016).
- Site-specific exception zones G1-1 to G1-19 exist (Section 10.2.2); refer to Article 1.1.2.3 and the applicable exception text.
