P5 zone, Hamilton: Conservation/Hazard Land (P5) Zone
Section 7.5 (7.5.1 Permitted Uses) of the City of Hamilton Zoning By-law 05-200, as amended by 06-166.
Land set aside for protecting the natural environment and managing flood and erosion hazards, where only conservation, flood/erosion control works and passive outdoor recreation such as walking or picnicking are allowed, and no buildings or development are contemplated.

Other provisions in this section
- No person may erect or use any building, or use any land, in the P5 Zone for any purpose other than the listed permitted uses or uses accessory to them, and any such erection or use must comply with the prescribed regulations (Section 7.5).
- Section 7.5 contains no dimensional regulations (no lot area, frontage, yard, height or coverage standards) for the P5 Zone.
- General provision (Section 4.23 d), not part of Section 7.5): all buildings or structures on any property must be set back a minimum of 7.5 m from a P5 Zone boundary, as determined by Conservation Authority flood and fill line mapping.
- Definitions (Section 3): 'Conservation' means the use of land, buildings or structures for the protection and management of the natural environment; 'Recreation, Passive' means relatively unorganized, generally outdoor recreational pursuits such as walking, sitting and picnicking (By-law 06-166).
