A townhouse zone for street and block townhouses (and independent living facilities) on small lots of roughly 6 m width and 162 m² per unit, with standards that vary depending on whether the lot is a standard lot, a lane-accessed lot, a lot on a private/common element road, or a whole block.

  • Table 7-7 standards are given in four columns by lot type: Standard Lot; Accessed by a Lane; Private Road or Common Element Road; Block — pick the column matching the lot.
  • Table 7-7 note 1: Where a private garage faces a front lot line or an exterior side lot line, the minimum setback to the private garage is 5.7 m.
  • Table 7-7 note 2: Minimum interior side yard is 3.5 m where the interior side lot line abuts a walkway, greenway, or stormwater management facility.
  • Table 7-7 note 3: Minimum interior side yard is 3.0 m where abutting a road, lane, common element road, or a sight triangle.

  • Table 7-6 note 2: Community garden, model home, temporary sales office, home occupation, secondary suite and short-term rental are subject to the specific use provisions of Part 5.
  • Apartment dwelling, multiple-unit townhouse dwelling, podium townhouse dwelling, retirement residence and supportive living facility are not permitted in RT2 (Table 7-6).
  • Table 7-7 states no maximum height, landscaped open space, FSI, unit width or parking standard for RT2; those (if any) come from the general provisions in Parts 4-5 of the By-law.
