A low-density residential zone for detached and semi-detached houses on lots of roughly 557 m² or more, with a 12 m height limit and 35% lot coverage, plus stricter floor-area, height and front-yard rules where the lot carries the -0 suffix.

Other provisions in this section
- -0 Suffix Zone: where lands are shown on the Part 19 Maps in the -0 Suffix Zone, the regulations of s.6.4 apply notwithstanding any other provision (Table 6.3.2 footnote -0).
- -0 Suffix RFA calculation (s.6.4.1, 2021-068): residential floor area on an attic level is measured from the exterior face of the knee wall; attic space sharing a wall with a permitted storey and exceeding 1.8 m headroom is fully counted; an attached garage in a multi-storey dwelling counts if it is 6.0 m or taller (garage floor to top of structure) and the floor area directly above it is less than 25% of the garage floor area.
- -0 Suffix front yard (s.6.4.3): minimum front yard = legally existing yard less 1.0 m; for lots vacant on the effective date or created afterwards, the parent-zone minimum (7.5 m); maximum front yard for new dwellings = minimum front yard + 5.5 m (2017-025).
- -0 Suffix main wall proportionality (s.6.4.4): for new buildings, at least 50% of the length of main walls facing the front lot line must be within the area between the minimum and maximum front yards; does not apply to additions to buildings legally existing on the effective date.
- -0 Suffix balcony/deck prohibition (s.6.4.5): balconies and uncovered platforms prohibited above the first-storey floor level.
- -0 Suffix height (s.6.4.6): maximum 2 storeys, no floor area above the second storey, maximum height 9.0 m.
- Accessory buildings (s.6.5.1): must be on the same lot as the primary use; not for human habitation or occupation for gain unless otherwise permitted.
- Accessory buildings (s.6.5.2, 2021-068): minimum yards same as the dwelling, except 0.6 m from any lot line when in a flankage or rear yard with at least 2.0 m separation from the dwelling; maximum height 4.0 m from grade, reduced to 2.5 m when less than 3.5 m from a flankage lot line; maximum lot coverage the greater of 5% of lot area or 42.0 m², additional to the dwelling's coverage (not permitted in the -0 Suffix Zone).
- Reduced front yard (s.6.6, 2015-079): a dwelling erected between dwellings legally existing on the effective date in the same block, whose averaged front yards are less than the zone minimum, may use the average of the yards of the nearest dwelling on each side.
- Day cares (s.6.7): only on a lot whose front or flankage lot line abuts an arterial or major collector road; minimum interior side yard 4.2 m; maximum driveway width in front/flankage yard 6.0 m plus 5.7 m additional continuous hard surface (notwithstanding s.5.8.2(b),(c)); playground equipment 1.8 m or taller set back 5.0 m from all lot lines, under 1.8 m set back 2.0 m.
- Parking structures (s.6.9): storage of vehicles for repair prohibited; no setbacks required for parts no more than 1.37 m above the nearest lot line elevation, except 1.0 m where abutting a Residential Zone and 3.5 m for ventilator shafts.
- Separation of dwelling units (s.6.10, 2021-068): the entire lot or block designated for semi-detached (and townhouse forms) is used to determine compliance; for common element condominiums, regulations apply to the proposed parcels of tied land until formally established.
- Permitted-use footnote 1 (2023-024): a maximum of one of bed and breakfast establishment, day care, private home day care, or short-term accommodation is permitted on a lot.
- Section 6.8 (RUC parking regulations) does not apply to RL7.
- Interior side yard reductions (Table 6.3.2 footnotes 1 and 2) depend on an attached private garage meeting the minimum dimensions of s.5.2.3(b).
