R2E zone, Brampton: Residential Semi-Detached E-x

Section 15.8 of the City of Brampton Zoning By-law 270-2004, as amended by 48-2006, 238-2007, 204-2010, 233-2010.

A zone for semi-detached houses where the minimum lot width is set by the number after "R2E-" on the zoning map (for example R2E-7.2 means 7.2 metres per unit).

Other provisions in this section

  • The '-x' suffix (e.g. R2E-7.2, R2E-7.5, R2E-8.5 on Schedule A) is the minimum interior lot width in metres and drives the minimum lot area (25 x width).
  • 15.8.2(k)(1): No garage shall project into the front yard more than 1.5 metres beyond a porch or front wall of the dwelling.
  • 15.8.2(k)(2): No garage shall face the flankage lot line.
  • 15.8.2(k)(3): Maximum cumulative garage door width: 2.5 m if the dwelling unit's lot width is less than 8.2 m; 3.1 m if the lot width is 8.2 m or more but less than 9.2 m; 3.7 m if the lot width is 9.2 m or more.
  • 15.8.2(k)(4): Maximum interior garage width is 0.6 metres wider than the permitted maximum cumulative garage door width.
  • 15.8.2(l): The driveway width shall not exceed the width of the garage.
  • 15.8.2(m): When abutting a TransCanada Pipe Line right-of-way the minimum building setback is 10 metres.
  • 15.8.2(n): A balcony or porch may project into the minimum front yard by a maximum of 1.8 metres, including eaves and cornices.
  • 15.8.2(o): An accessory building shall have a minimum setback of 0.6 metres to a rear yard lot line or an interior side yard lot line.
