- s.22.4(a): covered porches may encroach up to 1.5 m into the front yard and the side yard abutting a street (in addition to Part 1, Subsection 2.13 encroachments).
- s.22.4(b): where the side yard is less than 1.2 m, an encroachment shall be no closer than 60 cm to the lot line.
- s.22.4(c): eaves and roof overhang may encroach up to 0.5 m beyond a covered porch encroachment into the front yard and street side yard.
- s.22.5(a): residential building height per Part 1, Subsection 2.31 'Residential Building Height' (Table 2.31.1 B) applies to RAL1 — see max_height).
- s.22.6: maximum driveway width 5.5 m (notwithstanding Part 1, Subsection 2.24); one additional walkway up to 1.5 m wide is permitted.
- Table 2.22.1 other yards: rear dwelling setback abutting a creek block 7.5 m (4.5 m if the block includes a 3 m buffer); side building setback abutting a creek block 3 m; yard abutting a pipeline easement 7 m; yard abutting a railway right-of-way 30 m.

- Part 2 s.1: uses and regulations are also subject to Part 1 (General Conditions and Provisions) and Part 14 (Exceptions to Zone Designations).
- Part 2 s.1(a): where the zone is prefixed with Holding Symbol 'H', permitted uses per Part 11, Subsection 1.1; development is premature until the 'H' is removed (Part 11, Subsection 1.2).
- Part 2 s.1(b)-(f): accessory buildings/structures (Part 1 s.2.2), patios and decks (s.2.3), fencing and privacy screens (s.2.4), swimming pools (s.2.5), lands adjacent to Lake Ontario and Burlington Bay (s.2.30) apply.
- Part 2 s.1(g): an 'L'-shaped detached dwelling without an attached garage/carport that forms one side and one end of a 4.5 m x 6.5 m parking space uses the side yard required for a detached dwelling with an attached garage/carport.
- Part 2 s.1(h): parking lots shall be set back 4.5 m from a street line.
- Part 2 s.1(i): parking space and driveway setbacks — for townhouses, back-to-back/stacked townhouses, cluster homes and apartment buildings up to 3 storeys, driveways and parking lots set back 3 m from a building wall with habitable-room windows (not applicable where the space and driveway are for the exclusive use of the unit occupant), and parking spaces set back at least 6 m from an R1, R2, R3, LN3, LN4, LN5 or LN6 zone; for apartment buildings 4 storeys or more, driveways 9 m and parking spaces 6 m from a ground-floor or basement habitable-room window, and driveways and parking spaces 6 m from those zones. (These building forms are not permitted in RAL1.)
- Part 2 s.1(j): an enclosed parking structure extending more than 1.6 m above grade is subject to principal building yard requirements; one below grade and up to 1.6 m above grade shall be set back 3 m from a street line; no encroachment into a required landscape buffer abutting a residential zone.
- Part 2 s.2 prohibited uses (in addition to Part 1 s.2.22): parking/storing a motor vehicle (other than a recreational vehicle) over 3000 kg registered gross weight, 6 m length or 2.6 m height; any stake-body vehicle; a recreational vehicle or utility trailer with load exceeding 3.6 m combined height; and any vehicle, trailer, boat or similar conveyance within a landscaped open space area.
- Duplex, triplex, fourplex, townhouse, street townhouse, stacked townhouse, apartment building and retirement home are not permitted in RAL1 (Table 2.21.1).
