  • Corner lot width where lot depth is less than 30 m (Table 2.19.1 note a): Detached 12.6 m min / 15.8 m max; Semi-detached lot 18.2 m min / 23.8 m max; 1 or 2 storey street townhouse 9.7 m min / 12.8 m max.
  • Table 2.19.1 note (d): a detached unit may have a minimum interior lot width of 9.0 m and minimum corner lot width of 10.8 m subject to: maximum building height 2 storeys; maximum garage width 3.5 m; maximum driveway width 3 m (notwithstanding Part 1 s.2.24); a garage (attached or unattached) shall not be closer to a street than the closest distance between the dwelling unit and the street line.
  • Table 2.19.2 other yards: yard abutting a pipeline easement 6 m; yard abutting a railway right-of-way 30 m.
  • Detached garage (s.19.2): in a rear yard abutting a public or private lane may be built to the rear lot line, set back 90 cm from a side lot line and 3 m from a side lot line abutting a street; a detached garage in a rear yard shall be set back 6 m from a dwelling on the same lot.
  • Built form (s.19.4), within each section of a plan of subdivision (three or more contiguous lots fronting the same street): at least one third of units shall have attached garages projecting no more than 1.5 m beyond the second storey; one third may have garages projecting up to 6.5 m; one third may have garages projecting up to 3.5 m beyond the second storey.
  • Not more than 8 contiguous lots shall be 9 m or less in width (s.19.4(iv)).
  • Driveway width (s.19.4(v)): a lot 11.0 m or wider may have a maximum driveway width of 5.5 m (notwithstanding Part 1 s.2.24), provided a garage is not closer to the street line than the dwelling unit.
  • Parking (s.19.6): per Part 1, Subsection 2.25 'Off-Street Parking and Loading Requirements'.
  • Encroachments (s.19.7, in addition to Part 1 s.2.13): porches, stairs and canopies may encroach up to 3 m into a required rear yard; porches may encroach up to 1.5 m into a required yard abutting a street; no encroachments into a required 0.6 m side yard; for two-storey townhouses on lots 9.0 m or wider, up to 50% of the first-floor unit width may encroach up to 1.5 m into the rear yard setback.
  • Holding 'H' prefix (s.1(a)): uses per Part 11 s.1.1; development deemed premature until the H is removed per Part 11 s.1.2.
  • General Part 2 provisions (s.1): accessory buildings per Part 1 s.2.2; patios/decks s.2.3; fencing s.2.4; swimming pools s.2.5; lands adjacent to Lake Ontario/Burlington Bay s.2.30; 'L'-shape detached dwelling without garage forming a 4.5 m x 6.5 m parking space uses the side yard of a dwelling with attached garage; parking lots set back 4.5 m from a street line; townhouse driveways/parking lots set back 3 m from habitable-room windows (unless exclusive to the unit) and parking spaces 6 m from R1/R2/R3/LN3-LN6 zones; enclosed parking structures more than 1.6 m above grade follow principal building yards, otherwise 3 m from a street line.
  • Prohibited (s.2, plus Part 1 s.2.22): parking/storing motor vehicles over 3000 kg GVW, 6 m long or 2.6 m high (except recreational vehicles); stake-body vehicles; recreational vehicles or utility trailers exceeding 3.6 m combined height; any vehicle/trailer/boat within a landscaped open space area.
  • Day care centre permitted only on a street with a deemed width of 20 m or greater, subject to RO1 detached dwelling regulations (Table 2.16.1 note a).
